A small family burial ground remains, on private farm property, surrounded by a chain-link fence where Emanuel Ruffner settled in 1805. Emanuel relocated from the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia where he was born in 1757. Read more about the Ruffner Family by selecting the link at the bottom of the page. The cemetery has also been referenced as the Friend-Ruffner Cemetery or just by the Ruffner name. Several family members were buried in this location; however, cattle later roamed the area and the grave stones were broken off and buried. Later, the erection of a replacement memorial listed the family members buried in this cemetery.
